Any landing you can walk away from...
Aug. 28th, 2008 06:22 pmIt was a quiet evening in town, and while out strolling I happened by Miss Puchkina's new place. We had a nice chat for a bit, then Miss Writer came by. We had a most wonderful conversation, talking about many different things...when the conversation turned to flying and aviation. I remarked to them both that I had recently acquired a small two seat aeroplane. While airships have been proven to be very stable and reliable, fixed wing heavier than air craft are still very risky things to fly. Miss Dagger decided that she wanted a ride, so we got on board and took off from the field beside the library. My concern was that the field was far too short for a take-off, but the little 'plane took off and we make several laps around town. The problems began when I throttled back after going into a low hanging cloud bank, and found myself amongst the taller of the buildings near Bow Street. I managed to avoid striking any of them, but ended up in the canal with my machine. I returned to Miss Puchkina's residence, and shortly afterward Miss Writer came by, none the worse for wear. Apparently she abandoned ship further back than I did. Since the light was falling, I decided to give up on another attempt and called it a night.

None the worse for wear? I sank to the bottom of the canals, crashed offline, and came back as a pale white zombie to haunt you! :D
That was quite a fun evening!

Here I am, waiting my turn for a ride in Miss Dagger's aeroplane when I hear a loud crash and splash! Miss Dagger walks back to my place, sopping wet. I start screaming that Miss Writer has died in the accident (which I know is not Miss Dagger's fault. She is an excellent pilot). Before I can work myself into proper hysterics, Miss Writer appears, or rather her zombie appears. *shivers*
Believe me, Miss Writer is one scary zombie. I ain't 'fraid of no ghosts, but zombies . .
